Springing Towards a Healthier YOU

Spring -- the season of regrowth and new beginnings. It is the season that breathes fresh life into the world around us. It’s the time of year known for encouraging the act of thoroughly cleaning the place you call home, addressing nooks and crannies that are normally disregarded during winter months and sweeping them tidy. Hmm. If you’ve had your cup of coffee by now, you probably see where we’re going with this. Springtime brings such renewal to the physical world around us, but does it bring renewal to us in a more personal way? We work tirelessly to clean our humble abodes and get rid of stuff we don't need, but how much more should we bring the same attention to the humble abode we call our body? 

Before we go any further, we should understand what detox means. A detox, or detoxification, is the process of ridding your body of toxins that can make you feel sluggish and unhealthy. These toxins include things like chemicals, heavy metals, and other environmental elements absorbed by our bodies from different sources. The main goal of a detox is to eliminate those toxins in order to enhance the function of the body’s built-in detoxification pathways, which include major organs like the liver. If you have ever felt certain symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, anxiety, constipation, or trouble concentrating/sleeping, it could be a sign of toxicity in your body. Downer, isn’t it? But don't be sad for too long, because that’s where we come in to save the day.

This Spring, Bella Barre will embark on the journey of cultivating a cleaner body from the inside out with a 5-week Spring Detox Challenge. The best part? We’re doing it together! We’ll spend some time on making healthy lifestyle adjustments, such as having a more positive mindset, dedicating more time to physical activity, and being more mindful of what we feed our bodies. At the end of the five weeks, our bodies will thank us and we will proudly enjoy the benefits of Spring-cleaning from the inside out. What are those benefits you ask? (insert smirk-smile emoji here)

Successfully completing a detox holds many physical and mental benefits. Since you are eliminating unhealthy toxins from your body, you will gain a boost in energy and some help with weight loss. You’ll strengthen your immune system, since the detoxification process will free up your organs so that they can function the way they should, and better absorb nutrients you need. An effective detox will also allow you to enjoy clearer skin, healthier hair, as well as anti-aging benefits; and let’s be honest, what gal wouldn’t want that?! Other significant benefits of a positive detox program include improved concentration, sleep, and overall wellbeing. If these benefits don't convince you, check your pulse!

Five weeks may seem like a painfully long time to not sit on the couch and eat In-and-Out while watching reality TV after work, but we promise the sacrifices will be worth it in the end!
