Barre by Bella Barre instructor training has been approved by AFAA and NASM as a continuing education provider.
This teacher training is great for fitness instructors looking to add new ideas and inspiration to their current classes, students who want to deepen their understanding and practice of barre, and anyone who is interested in learning how to teach, create, and effectively lead fun and upbeat barre classes that leave students wanting more. Following our instructor training program, Bella Barre Instructor Certified status is provided to all of those who complete and pass the test out following the training weekend and suggested practice hours. The test out is submitted via video and must include the trainee teaching at least one student a full 60 minute Barre by Bella Barre class. There are no fees or continuing education requirements to maintain your certified status.
Ideally you would have one year of barre, group exercise, yoga, Pilates or dance teaching experience, but we absolutely love training new teachers who are fitness enthusiasts with the motivation to succeed. Once Bella Barre certified, we highly recommend you become CPR certified and get liability insurance before you begin teaching.
We are working with bodies. So it would make sense to talk about it, right?! That’s what will set you apart: your knowledge of your client’s bodily systems! That’s why we spend nearly an entire day talking just about the body- how it works, how to make your classes effective, and most importantly; how to keep your clients safe! Furthermore, we require that you pre-study from the anatomy book that we provide you before training even begins.
Once you have registered for training, you will get the anatomy book. We require that you read this book prior to attending our program. If you can, take as many barre classes as possible. Whether online, in a different barre studio, or, ideally, at Bella Barre, any and all barre classes provide an opportunity to deepen your mind-body connection and your understanding of what makes barre one of the fastest growing segments in the fitness industry. Once you arrive at our studio, a comprehensive training manual will be provided on the first day. Please bring a pen, your anatomy book, a pair of grip socks, water, and snacks.
Once you have been through our certification course you can teach anywhere in the US and abroad with one exception: If you live near our studio in Valencia, CA we require that you teach outside of a 10 mile radius of our facility, or receive our permission first, or best case scenario – become one of our amazing barretenders and teach classes. Teaching at Bella Barre does require a second module of level two and studio-specific training that is an additional 50 hours. If you are interested in being on Team Bella Barre, please inquire at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The training program is a comprehensive 100-hour program. We understand that life is busy, so we currently only offer weekend intensive workshops.

Absolutely! You just won’t need to take our teaching exam at the end of the training to receive a certificate. Should you change your mind and decide you’d like the formal certification, a test will be required.
